Etude House Mascara Remover is just like any other eye makeup remover, despite the name only stating mascara. Like most eye makeup remover, it comes in a clear and rose biphase liquid. The size is travel friendly, 100 ml . The direction from the bottle says: After shaking bottle to mix oil & water layers, apply solution to cotton pad until wet. Apply wet pad to eye, hold for 10 seconds and then wipe to remove makeup.

I found that holding the cotton pad soaked with Etude House Mascara Remover for 10 seconds is not enough. I needed at least 20 seconds with a very gentle pat (do not rub your eyes too harsh, EVER!) before all of my eye makeup were completely removed. It did not feel too oily and my eyes were squeaky cleaned. There was not any black residue from mascara and eyeliner found after removal. Although the name states mascara, it removes my eyeliner way better than mascara , even the waterproof one.

I have one grip though about Etude House Mascara Remover. It did not perform as well as it claimed to be in removing waterproof mascara. I had a tough time removing my waterproof Covergirl Lash Blast. The mascara came off eventually, but it took longer than when I used L’Oreal eye makeup remover. Other than that, this eye makeup remover performs a good job .

Etude House Mascara Remover has a slight flowery smell. I do not have problem with it as the smell is not too overwhelming. For those who have sensitive eyes, fret not, this eye makeup remover is pretty gentle. I have sensitive eyes, slightly strong chemicals will cause my eyes burning. Yet, after about a month using Etude House Mascara Remover, I never experienced any, so a big yay for that

Will I repurchase? I think I will stick to L’Oreal eye makeup remover as I tend to use waterproof mascara, but it is otherwise, I’d recommend to get this one.

Plus: affordable, travel-friendly, does not irritate skin, has a pleasant smell, completely removes eye makeup

Minus: requires a bit more work when it comes to waterproof mascara

Well, again, I scored this baby from a swap. I like MAC products but buying them over here in full price gives a little bit of a pinch on my daily expense notebook . I have heard raves about Pinch O’ Peach so I was feeling quite itchy to get it.

When you read the color description from MAC and comparing it with the picture I took, you might be wondering whether I wrote a wrong color description or I took a wrong product. The answer is no, you read it all right. Warm peach, huh? All I see is pink, pink and again pink. Tell me if my eyes have betrayed me.

Oh nevermind, pink usually is friendly to me . To me, Pinch O’ Peach shows up as a sheer soft pink. It is quite a versatile color. I can pair it with any kind of look and it looks great if you want a healthy sheen without looking too made up.

As you can see, it is pretty sheer, so no worries for those who do not have light hands . It will look great on fair to medium and slightly tanned skin tone. The staying power is pretty decent, about 6 hours. Given my dry skin, it might vary if you have different skin type.

For a moment, it looks kind of similar to NYX Powder Blush in Natural, yet Natural is slightly cool, whilst Pinch O’ Peach is toward the warm side. So there you go, two similar blush, and you have your choice now Natural or Pinch O’ Peach?

Plus: Buildable, looks really natural, decent staying power

Minus: Slightly pricey, color description is so off

Holy cow, see how long I have been slacking off in updating my blog? OK, I was not exactly slacking off, my uni-related stuff (again) has taken a toll on me (I was sick, recovered, sick and finally recovered again), and I am catching up with old buddies and spending as much time with my friends as this is my final semester. After this, most probably we will end up in different countries, trying to find some moolah to support ourselves.  My two besties are going back to their respective hometown. One is thinking of continuing her family’s business in Indonesia and the other is going back to Saudi (or Kenya) and see where life will take her lol. What about me?  I’m going to Maldives and Kenya at the end of this year (after my exam and finish moving my stuff out) for my little trip . Thanks to my friends, they are willing to provide shelter for the poor me haha. When I get back, it’s either joining the work force or heading off to Canada. We’ll see much of my frozen ass if my parents decide to fund my study hahaha (this is exactly what my close friend said. frozen ass. nyahahaha)

I have been growing these babies for the past 6 weeks! I am not going to talk so much about technical terms, so basically I was growing tomato leaves and carrot slices on nutrient-containing media and observing any organs developed. I was supposed to see shoot, root or callus formation depending on the treatment. Unfortunately, the carrot slices were all heavily contaminated, or not growing anything at all! Whilst for the tomato leaves, I still see some growing roots and callus, but none growing shoot. So tonight I will have to crap my way out to find why no shoot growing on the media, and no, it was not contaminated.

I cultured 16 jars of tomato leaves and carrot slices but due to health reason (you may lose your appetite lol) I am not going to post them out . I’ve seen the heavily contaminated ones from other group, and they seriously look damn gross.

Enough with the plants! Haha. I am not really a plant person actually, hehe. Some find them fascinating, just like my botanist uncle, but I find them to be plain boring except for some funky facts that I discovered through out my course lol. Anyway, here’s my collective haul for August and September. Some of them are from my swaps, and quite a number of items are not pictured, because either I have given them away or swap them back haha. Also, my cousin-sister-in-law (does this exist?) was really sweet to give me a set of T’estimo prism collection consisting of two cream e/s (yellow and pale pink in a square pan at the top) and two lipsticks (not in the picture). She knows how much I love T’estimo lipstick. They are very creamy . I will take a picture of the lipsticks later on and you will be able to see how small and cute they are! Did anybody notice the browcake from I Nuovi? I got it from their gift voucher I saw on facebook To tell you the truth, I kinda like it . (I’m sorry some of the items cannot be seen properly due to bright lighting. The light hit my HIP cream eyeliner in Eggplant until I can barely see it!)

I have been sporting smokey look lately. I tried to get better in the application, however it only makes me look fierce, even more than I already am .

Can you see the teal kind of color on my crease? The lighting makes it looks as if there was only black! Here’s some clearer ones.

Items used: I Nuovie EyeBase (all over the lid), Tigi big fat fun eyeliner in Smudgie Black as a base, MAC Carbon (top off the base), mix of teal and seafoam blue e/s from 88-palette on top of the black, and matte white as highlighter. I use the same eyeliner to line my waterline and lower lashline. Oops, almost forgot! Maybelline Define-A-Lash mascara

Anyway, since I got up too early this morning I decided to play around a little bit, looking for inspiration on what eye makeup should I put on my friend tomorrow. I am helping her and two other friends for the makeup as they are going for Monash ball tomorrow. Pardon the unprep skin! I just woke up anyway and if anyone wondering about the crocodile-like lid, I am having some allergy . The patch nearby my browbone is due to using Benefit F.Y. Eye!. Definitely not for dry lids! Also it’s still a little messy and the blending is mediocre. -_-

Notice the poor eyelining??? Haha I did it with black e/s. I decided to use some liquid eyeliner instead on the picture below.

Any suggestions?

I have been wanting to try out more NYX blushes ever since I got my first NYX blush in Silky Rose. With its typical quilted pattern, it gives this blush a more elegant-like blush and a three-dimension prism-look-alike (the wording is simply weird, I know). I like the square pan it came with as it only required minimal space for storage and it can be easily stacked together with my other NYX blushes.

Natural is a matte light pink blush which applies on sheer. If you have a fair to fair medium skin, this blush would look great on you

The blush was really sheer, so for the swatch I swiped the blush 3 times.

The potential problem I noticed when I started using this blush was that it was very powdery that my blush brush picked up way too many product (I usually use my ELF contouring brush as my blush brush). I tried to pick up the blush with my other brush, and the outcome was still the same. Anyway, tapping it off a little bit did the trick

Little did I know that the blush was indeed very sheer and after tapping some of the product off, I barely saw anything on my cheeks, haha. I had to layer it on so that the color would show up. The result? A lovely pink flush on my cheeks

Both pictures were taken under the same lighting, yet different angle and somehow the color looks a little different in both pictures. I would say the bottom picture represents the color better.

I love how natural it looked on my cheeks ^_^. I think the name suits the blush well . This blush has a decent staying power as it lasted for approximately 5 to 6 hours. Given the price I paid for it, I could not complain, could I? NYX Powder Blush in Natural has soon become my staple, teehee~

Plus: Cheap, decent staying power, gives out natural flush, sheer and buildable, handy packaging
Minus: Not available locally, not pigmented enough (some might not like it), powdery

I really am sorry for the lack of the information! I lost the receipt and the ingredients list I stick on to the receipt itself . I will try to ask my sister later, who knows she might accidentally keep it lol.

The shade I chose was in Golden Surprise. It is a pink coral color with decent amount of gold shimmer in it. At first glance, I did not bother to check out their lipglosses as I thought they were way too glittery. Indeed, I missed out this lipgloss! Haha.  According from Definit’e website, they currently carry three series of lipgloss: Luscious Melted Pearl Lip Shine, Hot Luminous Drop Shine and Dancing Glaze Shine. The website itself is not really helping out much, so I would recommend you to check out the products at their flag store.

Back to the lipgloss. It came with a clear transparent tube just like most lipglosses. Along with it, there is a nail-polish-brush-alike that you can use for application. It was pretty easy to apply the lipgloss using its brush as it helped me to get the right amount of gloss on to my lips and evening it out was not a problem.

What I like from Definit’e lipgloss is the non-sticky feeling albeit the thick consistency. Sticky lipgloss is a big no-no for me. Its lasting power was pretty decent and even though the lipgloss could barely be seen anymore, there was still some sheen as the glitter did not fade away that easily. Oh did I tell you that I happened to wear my orange coral top when I took these pictures? Surprisingly, it matched my top just nice .

Packaging-wise, it is quite a simple lipgloss with the right size so that you can bring it around for touch ups. The transparent tube also enables us to see how much of the lipgloss left. It looks pretty simple to me, not in the elegant look packaging league. I do not really care, but some might like their stuffs having nice packaging. Anyway, as long as it does its job well, I won’t complain . I would like to add that the applicator is something that I would like to have on my lipgloss as it makes it easier to clean it up after using it.

Plus: Non-sticky, glitters remain after the gloss itself fades, convenient applicator
Minus: Might be pricey for some

What it claims: Intensively regenerated and nourished, your skin feels velvety soft. Your skin feels wonderfully supple, smooth and relaxed
Ingredients: It claims to contain Honey to intensively regenerate and smooth the skin as well as Macadamia Nut Oil and Shea Butter to provide intensive moisture and nutrients to the skin. The whole ingredients of the mask is shown in the picture below.
The claim sounds promising right for a person with dry skin like me? When I saw Shea Butter is one of the ingredients, I decided to get one to try it out. Besides it was on sale lol. When I first opened it, the immediate action was sniffing the mask, haha. I always do that. Somehow the combination of honey, macadamia nut oil and shea butter smelt like some chemical spill. No, it smelt exactly like the super bitter cough syrup that I had to take when I was kid. Bottom line, the smell was really off.

Nivea Pampering Honey Mask was a cream-like wash off mask. The cream texture was pretty thick and rich. In fact it was a little erm, slimy. It somehow reminds me of body butter lol, it gave out this slippery feeling after I washed my hands not so long after finish applying the mask on my face.

Here’s some sequential pictures of my sister before, during, and after applying Nivea Pampering Honey mask. Sorry, I totally forgot to take picture of myself lol. Anyway, I think these pictures should be sufficient enough to show the difference before and after applying the mask as well as better description of the mask texture. The mask was removed after 15 minutes, I followed the instruction given in the packaging.

OK, so after both of us washed our face off (finally the greasy feeling went away!), I felt my skin was a little slippery albeit a little more moisturized. My sister, on the other hand, did not feel that there was any changes. My skin did feel a little moisturized, but that was all, it was not even the cool moisturized kind of feeling. We did not notice any change on my sister’s face and even her patchy flaking skin was still there.

After our experience, we had totally fallen out of love with this mask. It is cheap, yes, but I rather buy masks from some other brand which already proven to work on my skin well. Please, do not bother to get  this mask..

Plus: Cheap, widely available
Minus: Does not moisturize well, greasy and slippery feeling, smells horribly

By the way, regarding her tips on filling in your eyebrows, I think you can stick to whatever method you are using right now as we might not have the same eyebrows after all. To me, I always start from the end then filling it in towards the middle and use the remaining to fill in the rest of my eyebrows. FYI, my eyebrow is thicker at the beginning

I decided to include the ingredient of the product from now on as some of you might be quite particular regarding it . Anyway, is it me or the grammar of the claims I took from the packaging is seriously bothering me? OK, it’s not like my English is perfect or anything (in fact, I speak and write broken English lol), but I think they should have had someone editing whatever claims they put in their products’ packaging.

As you might have noticed it, the loose powder came in a transparent tube. It reminds me of The Body Shop shimmering powder, only this one does not come with the clickety thingy (lol!).  I think the packaging is a great idea as it allows us to see how much product is still left in the tube. The plus point (as well as the minus point) of Definit’e Magic Finish Loose Powder can be seen in the picture below:

Yes, it came with a fluffy powder brush attached to it and a shifter so that you can control the amount of powder you want to use. Big yay for this feature but boo for the brush. It is quite soft and not that scratchy, but it shed like hell when I first started using it. After quite a while, the shedding was not as bad as the first one but it still sheds some hairs, one or two. The other plus point regarding the packaging is that you can bring it along for touch ups. For those who do not like having two separate powders, having Definit’e Magic Finish Loose Powder will be convenient.

The shade I got is Absolute Medium. It might look scarily dark in the picture, but believe me it suits my NC25 skin just nice. I think NC25 to NC30 can wear this shade just fine. Even though it claims to give a matte finish, it is not perfectly true. It still gave me a glowy finish, which I actually like!

I think the pictures say it all . So now you get what I meant when I said I had this kind of glowy radiant finish after dusting Definit’e Magic Finish Loose Powder? I did try to look at the tube closely and I could not see any shimmer in it (or maybe it is just me who has very bad eyesight).

Talking about the staying power, I did not actually have to touch up throughout the day. It kept any oil I secreted at bay. So at the end of the day, I still looked radiant. Shoo that tired face away!

My advice when you just first start using Definit’e Magic Finish Loose Powder is tapping it gently until you see substantial amount of powder coming out. Use the last shifter (III) to set your foundation and you can use the others for touch up depending on the amount you need.

Plus: Radiant matte finish, oil-control property, convenient packaging, shifter to adjust to your need
Minus: Might be pricey for some people, the provided brush sheds during the first few usage

What it claims: The most ultra fine, smooth and long-wearing powder. Feel the silky smoothness on the skin and in your fingertips with one touch of powder. Natural!

Definit’e Cosmetics has few blushes you can select depend on your skin tone. To me, they are on the pricey side and the color selection is comparable to that of MAC, Shu Uemura and some other brands. At RM68 they are not exactly cheap, don’t you think so? Anyway, I decided to get it because I love how it looked on me .

The shade I got is in Shiest Rose. It is a warm rose pinky color which will suit most fair and light skin. It might look a little odd on darker skin tone, but it does not mean you can’t give it a try right? Try it on, only you know whether it would look good on your or not .

Both pictures were taken under natural lighting. The intensity of the light varied slightly to reflect the true color of the blush.

I swatched the blush twice on my arm so that it would show up better in the picture. So, what do I like from this blush? It is moderately pigmented which go on sheer and blend smoothly. It is not powdery like some other blushes that I have. When I swiped my blush brush onto the surface, I did not notice any flakes of powder getting dust off out of the pan.

The blush gives me a healthy rosy cheeks and it perks up the whole look when I look like some half-dead fish.

First take! The lighting was pretty poor *sigh*

Second take! Did I just see some light rays? Snap, snap, SNAP!

The blush lasting power is just like any other blush I have, which means I needed to touch up every 6 hours. Nevertheless, even though I already wore it for 6 hours, there was still some color left. Me likes..

Anyhoo, lately I have been eating this a lot! Oh my, no wonder my holiday weight is still there! Quoting from my neighbour: “Once on the lips, forever on the hips!” Hahahahahahaa.

Here’s what I bought…

After a long thought, I decided to get their powder blushes in Angel and Natural. I was also a little curious about their mosaic powder blush, so I thought I should give Peachy a try . I also ordered Concealer in Jar yet the item did not reach here. So sad , but it’s alright, I managed to score one in Beige not so long ago in a swap . Other than that, I ordered NYX liquid foundation in Pale and Ivory. If you can read it from the picture, the liquid foundation actually has a lengthy name! The “this is the best make up I’ve ever used” Make Up. What a name -_-

As for the foundation, the left one is Pale and Ivory is on the right. Below the swatches, I blended the foundation. Both foundation may look scarily white on my hand yet Ivory is actually a good match for me . Pale is really pale, almost white. I think I am going to use it for mixing with my darker foundation.. Ivory is just a tad darker than Pale with a hint of pink undertone.

So that’s all I get.. Too bad the concealer could not make it
