First of all, thanks to Hanna that I can finally get my hands on a set of Shisheido White Lucent skincare range in sample size. They lasted quite a while though 🙂
From left to right: Brightening Cleansing Foam – Brightening Refining Softener Light N – Brightening Moisturizing Emulsion N
The picture shows the samples only, you can check out the full size at nearest Shiseido counters or at their website.
Price: I still am not really sure about the price as I haven’t got the chance to check it out at Shiseido counter. I’ll update this part again soon
What it claims:
– Brightening Cleansing Foam: A gentle purifying foam that effectively lifts away impurities and dulling surface cells to leave skin clean and bright
– Brightening Refining Softener Light N: A refreshing whitening lotion that softens skin and exfoliates as it suppresses melanin formation and reduces visible spots and dullness. Ensures a smooth, evenly luminous complexion
– Brightening Moisturizing Emulsion N: A rich whitening moisturizer that retexturizes skin, as it suppresses melanin formation and reduces visible spots and dullness. Ensures a smooth, evenly luminous complexion
Shiseido White Lucent range is catered for those who want brightening treatment. Besides the three products that I’ve mentioned, they have makeup remover, eye treatment, mask, serum and customized treatment in this range. For the softener, there is another one in enriched formula and for the moisturizer there are two other types with different texture (gel and cream) as well as another lotion with SPF.
According to the instruction, I am supposed to cleanse my face with the cleansing foam first, wipe it with the softener and smooth over the emulsion afterwards.
The Brightening Cleansing Foam has a mousse-like structure and very thick. However, it lathers up easily upon contact with water (you can use either cold or lukewarm water). After cleansing my face with this Brightening Cleansing Foam, there was not any sticky feeling but it didn’t feel that smooth either, unlike my Nivea gel cleanser. Overall, this serves just like any other cleansing foam you can find at drug stores.
After cleansing my face with Brigtening Cleansing Foam, the next step is wiping it with Brightening Refining Softener Light N (gosh the name is so lengthy!). This is just like a toner. Nothing special about this Brightening Refining Softener Light N, really. It’s just like any ordinary toner.. Yet, I hate the strong alcohol smell. Yikezzz.
The Brightening Moisturizing Emulsion N serves a purpose like a moisturizer. It has a texture like a lotion, quite watery but still a little thick. There is a hint of something like vanilla, yet I couldn’t get my finger on it. In the picture below, I poured way too much Brightening Moisturizing Emulsion N onto my palm and the result was a super sticky shiny face and it took ages for the emulsion to absorb completely to my skin (read: hours!). At first I thought maybe it was because I poured too much onto my palm. So the next day I tried to apply a tiny bit yet it still feels sticky and takes quite a long time to be absorbed, so I guess it is how it’s supposed to be. -_-
I can’t comment on its brightening effect as I only used it for a week. I don’t really notice the change, but well maybe if you have used this for quite sometime only the result will show up. Overall, I don’t like the products.. They’re so ordinary and nothing special (except the creepy alcohol smell and sticky feeling). I think other brands will do almost the same job without burdening your wallet.
Plus: moisturizing enough, clean my face properly, doesn’t leave my face dry after a long night in air-conditioned room
Minus: sticky, takes ages to absorb, alcohol smell
