The first item I am going to review from my recent purchase will be Definit’e Miracle Splash Liquid Foundation. From what I know, Definit’e Cosmetics has several ranges of products. This liquid foundation happens to be in Classic line although I did not see any other liquid foundation other than this lol.
Price: RM125
Size: 30g
What it claims: Cool and soothe high percentage of water renders pleasing experience with excellent play time in application. Feather-weight film and sheer coverage. Vitamin C & E in anti-aging and anti-oxidant effect. Recommended for all skin types. Pamper your skin today!
The foundation came in a transparent plastic bottle with a pump and amazingly long cap. It looks a little weird huh? When I was matched, my ideal match would be Ultra Light yet I decided to take Ultra Medium as it is not too dark and it looked pretty okay, giving me a faked tan look :P. As you can suggest from the name itself (“SPLASH”), this foundation is water-based. Β For your information, currently the foundation is only available in three shades.
Definit’e Miracle Splash liquid foundation looks quite yellow with a slight pink undertone, but just very slightly. I honestly pretty like it as it complements my skin tone really well :D. When I took some of the foundation out, I could smell a faint floral scent but it was gone few minutes after application. I am okay with the scent as it still smell quite soft, unlike some foundation with a strong chemical smell… *coughs,MAC,coughs*
Since it is water-based, it does not feel sticky at all when I applied it onto my face. Not to mention that it blends easily too :). The foundation felt so light and it was supposed to be a sheer foundation. However, from what I found out from the SA as well as what I’ve been experiencing, it could be layered on to get a medium coverage. During the free makeover session, I actually tried to layer it on and tadaa, a medium coverage that did not feel cakey. For the purpose of this review (and also it was a school day), I only put a layer of foundation. It was sheer but it covered most of my blemishes.
Definit’e Miracle Splash foundation actually gave me a dewy finish, yet it looks a little matte in the following picture. I dabbed on a little bit of CS Silica Powder to absorb any oil secreted throughout the day (my skin is considerably dry yet it still secrets a tiny bit amount of oil, especially during a hot and humid day) since I knew I would have a pretty long day π
When I came back home after a long day at uni, I still looked pretty fresh and my skin was not dried up :D. What I noticed is the color did not oxidize throughout the day. Despite the shade I chose was a little darker than Ultra Light, it did not make me look so fake and yellowish/orangey (once I tried to copy a ganguro look and the only thing my friends said was either I look sick or I look as if I got food poisoning -_-). It gave me the healthy look I desired ^_^.
One huge point which reduced all those marks that I had given to this foundation significantly is the packaging itself. Yes, it came with a pump but it is practically not functional at all. The pictures say it all…
How am I supposed to pump out the foundation if the pump is like that???? Tell me please :(. No wonder the SA suggested me not to use the pump. Instead, use the tip on the bottom part of the pump. The silly me forgot that part and used the pump. Guess what happened. The foundation splashed everywhere! I guess that’s how the foundation was named. What the heck right? I do not know whether this can be called “creativity” or simply just inconvenience.
Overall, Definit’e Classic Miracle Splash Liquid Foundation is a good foundation for those who do not like cakey feeling of oil-based foundation. Nevertheless, due to the packaging issue, I will suggest you to buy Estee Lauder Double-Wear Light foundation if you wanted to splurge and looking for a sheer foundation. No, I do not keep this foundation aside as apparently the shade is a perfect match for my sister and I can always use it when I want to look a little tanned ;).
Plus: light-weight, does not oxidize, not drying, Β has SPF, buildable coverage
Minus: pricey, useless pump, has a hint of floral scent (for those who does not like it), only three shades available
Does anybody notice my stupid t-shirt? π
whoa i like your shirt
hehe definite products are still a tad too pricey for me
their mua are really good and nice though
i wonder how much they charge to do a makeover for an event
Thanks π It’s actually a borrowed tees π It doesn’t suit my age, but I don’t care haha.
Hmm I am not really sure, but they gave me a complimentary voucher for one makeover for an event..
Pretty! I love water-based foundations – they’re so light and you can build up the coverage easily. That pump looks super ugly though, why is it so short? LOL. Maybe you can use a different pump for it? Get one of your other foundations and see if it fits. Have you tried Maybelline Pure Makeup? It’s 50% water and its super light. Blends into my skin effortlessly!
I just read your comment in your previous post, so I’ll reply here. I’ve used a ton of concealers. From Almay, to Revlon, Clinique, even Benefit and they’ve all pretty much creased on me. Right now I’m currently using Everyday Minerals concealer and its working pretty good for me. I use to tug on my eyes a lot back in the day when I wasn’t so into makeup and skin care and I have some lines under my eyes. Colour Craft isn’t that great when you really look at it. Maybe 3-4 things max are kind of worht buying, but either than that, it is a disappointment, lol.
I love that shirt! Though I’m not bold enough to wear it outside, haha.

Sorry, forgot to add great post! Can’t wait to see your next post!
Hiya Dee!
Yeap, I agree with you. Haha yeah, that’s why I complained about it, such a useless pump! I am now trying to find a suitable pump for it.. Maybelline Pure Makeup? Hmm I saw the packaging online, and it actually resembles Maybelline Gel foundation over here. I guess it’s just the name which is differ. Yeah I tried it before.. It’s super light and blendable, yes, but it’s drying π¦
Oh my, I do have fine lines too under my eyes. Not to mention eye bags. I know how hard it is to find a suitable concealer for such problematic areas..
Thanks! And btw, that’s my little sister’s tees. Although it’s a little too much for a 21 yo to wear such tees, I don’t really care and I pretend not to see the weird stares when I was walking at uni π
Hi Shuu,
I agree with you on your suggestion on the Estee lauder foundation. Actually it’s not a splurge should anyone decide to buy the EL Double Wear foundation because the price is just RM3 more than the foundation you just reviewed. Yes, the EL foundation is only RM128 for a 30ml tube. I have this EL foundation….love it!
Hi Vonvon!
Hehe to some it might be an ‘ouch’ to the wallet buying EL foundation as it is considerably a high-end brand.
Oh I do love EL Double Wear Light too! Amazingly light. It’s great that it works well for you too! π
haha i went for my make over already
not as good as the first time.
not many new tips & tricks either π¦
im an ultra light too while my sis is a medium.
but i find that this foundie doesnt control oil well
one hour after, i met up with the bf and he said
why your face so oily one?!
*faints*
my oh my..
I have a relatively dry skin so it works okay for me.. I’m sorry it doesn’t work out for you.
Anyway, there’s still a lot of foundations out there which may work well with normal to oily skin, I believe π
I agree that this is not great for the oily type skin.
Hi Liz,
Thanks for dropping by ^_^
I think LyNn has had her point there. I have a dry skin so I can’t really justify how well it is in controlling oil. But it seems like it can’t really keep the oil at bay. I still am recommending Estee Lauder Double Wear Light though ;). EL SAs are usually attentive and you can ask them to apply the foundation on you and see how it works out π
Good info,Thank you : οΌ
First; wow u really have a huge Definit haul! Secondly, yeah the packaging looks peculiarly ugly, and too bad it’s not practical. Def a major turn off for me, hehee~
LOL i like your tee! Were can I get one? =P
Hi Hanna!
This is a seriously long-delayed reply! I am trying to find a replacement for the pump π but firstly I need to finish off my current foundation first π
Thanks! I borrowed the tee from my little sister. I will ask her where she got it π
